A man who beats you...

by Jenie   Mar 11, 2007

Too all of you who have stayed for all the wrong reasons......

I wake up in the morning
Stretch and hit the snooze
Try not to wake up
And realize I still have a bruise

Make sure to clean up
The mess from the night before
The glass you threw my way
My shirt that you tore

I make your breakfast
Slowly sneak back into the bed
Nicely wake you
Taking that chance, I always dread

We come and sit at the table
don't speak of what happened last night
You stare at me in anger
Wanting to finish the fight

You take off for the day
I stay in and cry
Covering up the cuts and bruises
Thanking God I didn't die

9:30 you come back in for the night
Whiskey on your breath
Fear in my eyes
That tonight might be my death

I say "how was your day"
You tell me to shut it
I say "sweeyt I am sorry"
thats when I get my first hit

I fall to the ground
You kick me as I fall
Trying not to scream for help
As I'm forced to crawl

Once again
I did nothing wrong
But this is what happens when your with
A man who beats you for too long
