The Sickness

by ben thompson   Mar 14, 2007

Searing pains accost my weary mind.
Head dizzy with illness, thoughts foggy at times.

Body wracked by heaves something gone wrong.
Unable to eat nothing stays down long.

Vast intense suffering can anything help.
I'd rather die with the sickness in myself.

My future now shrouded completely in gloom.
As I head toward this poisoned doom.

My time soon over, such a bitter end.
I weep alone now, gone my family and friends.

Fevered delusions endured, such a painful plight.
Onward I march toward my premature night.

Now I close my eyes with an excepting embrace.
Finally some relief from this disease ridden state.

Sweet sweet mercy, as my old body goes.
Trials over and done my mortality exposed.
