Not Envious This Time

by Sarah Ann   Mar 15, 2007

Behind the smiles; beneath the fame
Still hidden deep inside her name
Carved dark in memories of red
Where painted images have bled

Behind the laughter brightening days
Colors that danced now fade away
She is distant. My girl weeps,
Praying He'd have her soul to keep.

All those who know her wouldn't ask
Darkness hovers over her past
Pain clotted up her dreams inside
But sorrows still can't drain her pride

And though her heart is miserable
She's never far from visible
With a mask she's standing always tall
Yet, I don't envy her at all.

You describe some one that I almost know. A piece that gives a glimpse into anothers mind, well done.
