Broken Dreams

by ben thompson   Mar 17, 2007

The lowest moment in my life is the realization my decaying dreams are never to come true.
Causing thoughts to fade to black, harsh reality my ship is never to sail through.

Trapped down in the feeble ranks never given occasion to fly with the best.
My shattered will carries a head hung low to struggle in mediocrity with the rest.

Why is happiness and glory given to those I most despise?
The evil ones that crush my dreams with glaring deceitful eyes.

My soul bares the weight alone the world's dagger to my back.
Society feels safe to push me, expecting the weak won't push back.

I feel in my heart I am a horrible failure, oh Lord what is to become of me.
I seek only a better existence for me and my family.

I feel like a warrior without a blade, without a cause I'm lost.
Just a man full of broken dreams, needing completion at any cost.

This is so sad it brought tears to my eyes.

I feel in my heart I am a horrible failure, oh Lord what is to become of me.
I seek only a better existence for me and my family.

    These lines really hit me.

    Thinking of you.
