Life

by ben thompson   Mar 19, 2007

Life used to contain wonder from undiscovered sites.
Now I sit and wonder how soon I can call it a night.

Life's strain hardens as our mortality wanes time slips hurriedly by.
Loss of our family and friends causes hard times that leave us asking why.

But make life a little easier and search for God's awesome gifts.
Although sometimes difficult to find, their usually in our midst.

The miraculous gifts I speak of are more precious than any gold.
The smile of our children, the twinkle in their eyes, innocence of a young soul.

The kiss of our loving soul mate touching softly in the velvet dark.
The fall of a million diverse snow flakes glistening in the city park.

The cool breeze off the water on a warm and brilliant sunny day.
God meant for our lives to be special we just have to find the way.

This is such a beautiful piece you have penned here. The joys you speak of are there just most of us overlook these things.

The miraculous gifts I speak of are more precious than any gold.
The smile of our children, the twinkle in their eyes, innocence of a young soul.

This is what I live for now.
    Thanks for sharing them.
