Once upon a Time

by Lithium   Mar 20, 2007

Behind these eyes,
A soul is lost,
Reliving memories,
At a deadly cost,

The grief is rushing back,
The tears beginning to flood,
For the life she once had,
For the past years of blood,

With no place to turn,
For this life she is missing,
It's looking better each day,
The blade she should be kissing,

A secret well kept,
For ongoing years,
A dissatisfying taste,
A constant affair,

The words said by others,
Have never meant a thing,
But no longer can these feelings,
Be held deep within,

These walls are getting higher,
Isolation her new best friend,
One she'll hold onto,
Until the very end,

The cheap plastic thrills,
She has been clinging to,
Have never been her thing,
It's just to impress you,

She is singing out for answers,
From an angel that doesn't exist,
Her hopes are slowly fading,
This is becoming hard to resist,

Her vision is cloudy,
Her wrists are red,
As she pines for the life,
She once led,

She wants to be herself,
But she doesn't know who that is,
The only life she knows,
Is the one she once lived.

Great job on this piece so very sad :(

    She wants to be herself,
But she doesn't know who that is,
    The only life she knows,
Is the one she once lived.

Your words ring so true. Loved this.
    Excellent!
    Thinking of you.
