Promise You'll Hold On Tight

by Sarah Ann   Mar 28, 2007

My eyes are swollen I can't see
The tears are dropping painfully
Upon my silky golden dress
My lipstick's slurred and I'm a mess

They call to me and I can't hear
My life has become distant fear
That once lingered deep down inside
Until it swallowed up my pride

The room is spinning - all are smiles
I'm walking on - I've been for miles
But where is he? My pretty boy
Who sweeps me off my feet in joy

He's far away in toughened pain
Feelings were kept in mere disdain
And I can't live...baby I'm dying
So come to me, I can't stop crying.

Promise me you'll hold on tight
Whisper the Truth. "It'll be alright"
I need to hear you say you'll stay.
Don't let your good life slip away

-Just a vent. My friend who had a heart attack from an infection that attacked his heart now spread among his liver, lungs and other various parts of the body. -
