Simple Way Of Thinking

by Cherise   Apr 1, 2007

There's no simple way of thinking,
Since New Orleans was sinking,
and when boys started bringing guns to school
I often wonder, why we bother
while we're walking around in this blood pool.

I read the papers, and see the news
Walk down these streets, that no one knew,
And see these tramps that didn't pay.
as I question where I'm going
I realize, theres many ways.

Put down you rifles, Put down your guns
Look at yourselves, everyone.
Can't you see where we're going?
making our way to wards the eve of destruction
and having none of us even knowing.

Look at the floor, look at the bed
and all the people, who's blood you shed
why did you do it? There was no reason.
You just change your minds,
just like the seasons.

There's no simple way of thinking,
Since New Orleans was sinking,
and when boys started bringing guns to school
I often wonder, why we bother
because to them, we're just their tools.

This was a great poem. the only thing you may need to edit is the structure of one line: making our way to wards the eve of destruction <<that line seems a bit too long

5/5 on the message. that was fabulous. and i liked how you repeated the lines at the end.
