Burning Bridge

by Startle Me   Apr 3, 2007

To the bridge, he guides her
It is the bridge of existence
The devil points its burning spear
It is futile, resistance

Through bridge alone before
Now there is one friend
Sadly, the devil is his name
Will guide her through the end

A subtle call in the back of the head
It whispers, "you must not give in"
It grows louder with every step
"This battle you will not win"

"Listen to me, you must
For direction you face is hell
Run faraway away from here
To your friend, say farewell"

Decided to kill the devil
The devil that is in her mind
To hope for the best of it
Annihilate to save mankind

The burning spear from him she stole
And the wooden bridge, she burned
Screaming for my sorrow, existence
This is what she gets in return

Devil laughed and laughed
For he is made out of fire
The skin of hers is burnt
Laugh gets higher and higher

Watching from the paradise above
The bridge she watches as it burns
She cries for days she has lived
Cheerful nights and days, she yearns
