Death at Your Feet

by x.Athame.x   Apr 16, 2007

Come with me child
Walk with me here
Through this place
No need for fear
Look at the stones
Slate gray and cold
Touch one softly
What tale does it hold?

Travel with me child
Through these ivy vines
As about the headstones
Their tendrils twine
Wait for night to fall
Over this silent place
Then when the moon is full
Feel the dead's embrace

Sit with me child
Hear the ancient call
The souls still scream out
Never silent at all
Feel the cool crisp breeze
Send a shiver down your back
Look at the flowers left
That have turned so black

Life is just one part
Of a two piece game
The other part is death
In that there is no shame
One without the other
Would not be complete
Remember that forever
When death is at your feet.
