Jealousy

by Vic   Apr 25, 2007

To be like this,
A jealous fit,
Annoys me in
The highest bit.

She's sworn her love,
Her fidelity.
Yet there's a doubt
Which remains to claim me.

That flirtatious laugh
From the other room,
Sets me ablaze
With unmatchable rue.

My mind spins ill thoughts,
My heart starts to shatter.
My blood boils uncontrollably,
Silence is what I'm after.

Silence of the mind;
Silence of the conscience.
Silence of the voice
That pushes me to violence.

This insecurity is wrong,
I must remember my trust.
This love we share must triumph,
She won't give in to lust.

To be completely sure,
I must remain alert.
The one who breaks our trust
Will suffer an agonizing hurt...
