Everything was perfect that day; It wasn't too hot or cold. We prepared the party at noon, The usual stories were told. The happiest day of my life, Deciphering your double meanings. I enjoyed having your friendship, And knew where our relationship was leading. Then you asked a puzzling question, One that I couldn't answer. I didn't know the meaning, But it gave me a good shudder. "If I held you, and you held me, Would we float into the sky?" I've never heard that puzzle before, Nor seen such twinkle in your eyes. Indeed as I was lost for words, My heart began to race. What sinister secret were you keeping Behind that Mona Lisa face? The day went by as quick a blink, No hinder to our laughter.
