Disappearing without a Trace

by Lithium   Apr 26, 2007

Disappearing,
Without a trace,
A sweetened smile,
Upon her face,
Left her lying,
Without a fear,

She will find you.

Through these years,
She pushed on,
She kept going,
Getting weaker,
And weaker,

The mountains were,
Her silent home,
Of quiet solitude,
Where she could hear you,
Where she could touch you,

Disappearing,
Without a trace,
Has anyone noticed yet?
Her ghost circling you at night,
Stealing your happiness,
While you sleep at night,

She will find you.

Something she could never have,
Laid behind those hills,
These lasting dreams,
Of having you,
Were never going to come true,
For as long as she lived,

Her first and last precious smile,
Upon her dying face,
The only happiness,
She ever embraced,
Was from a boy,
Who promised bliss,
Then disappeared,
Without a trace,

He was never real,
Never existed,
But was always there,
And never resisted,

He was real,
Until she died
In her imagination,
He kissed her goodbye,

She found her happiness,
On this day,
Because she finally found him,
And could say the words
She'd been longing to say,

I love you.

[This started out as a song but I decided to make it into a poem because it just...went better as a poem :)]

    Sam
How sad yet beautiful. This was excellent I love the imagery in this write.

    He was real,
    Until she died
    In her imagination,
    He kissed her goodbye,

This brought tears to my eyes.
    Take care Love Cindy
