Pearls

by Run out of words   May 9, 2007

I'm sorry I'm sorry,
I really am.
And I didn't mean to say what I did.
Just listen just listen,
try to understand.
Because I'm crying tears of pearls through my eyelids.

I would never hurt you,
and I wish you knew,
That I really would like to take back what I did.
But I can't and it's true,
You have no idea what I would do,
to just cover my mistakes with a lid.

You're a precious friend,
a black pearl amongst the whites.
And I never wanted that to end.
And if you're in trouble,
A hand I would still lend,
The memory of what I did bites.

But sweet I've lost you,
And I don't know what to do,
Because I dropped my pearl.
And anything I would give,
the have those moments relived,
Because a pearl like you is rare in this world.

I've dropped my pearl,
I've been mean to that girl.
I wish I could be forgiven for this.
And I've got so much regret,
Is this what I get?
For treating you so much like p.i.s.s?

So in furry and in tears,
even if it may take years
I will search through this dirty, unpure world.
And no matter how long it takes,
no matter how much my patience breaks.
I will retrieve my dropped pearl.

I'm sorry I'm sorry,
I really am.
And I didn't mean to say what I did.
Just listen just listen,
try to understand.
Because I'm crying tears of pearls through my eyelids.
And not a single one of them appears to be you,
I hope you miss our friendship as much as I do.

Man o man! Your poems are always great. Like the others, this one flowed smoothly, and the idea with the pearl made it even more great. 5/5
