You're My Favorite Fantasy

I watch him walk away with her so perfectly,
As he looks back and flashes a smile at me,
And I fake one back because he doesn't know,
He's everything that I want and can't let go.

He talks about her and I know she's pretty,
But I won't say anything, he's finally happy,
And if I bite my tongue than maybe he'll one day see,
The girl that he needed all along was me.

There's a love letter tucked away under my bed,
Written down are all of the words in my head,
But I hope when he's holding her close to his heart,
He'll think of me taking on her loving part.

But he doesn't know he's the reason for my tears,
So oblivious to my feelings from the last two years,
And as I watch them together, walking away from me,
I bow my head and say: "You're my favorite fantasy."

But I look to my reflection in the mirror, knowing,
There's no point of sitting here, with tears flowing -
So tonight I'll hide his picture so I can get some sleep,
And forget about the boy I forever want to keep.
