When I Heard Your Prayer

As I look into your face
I am ever so amazed
You have the lips of an angel
And eyes from up above
When you smile softly
I'm showered by your love

You define perfection
In every thing you do
When I look into those eyes
It's your flaws that I see through

I see a beauty unimagined
And it's oh so very true
God must have known that you were special
When he laid his hand on you

I'm taken away
By that look in your eyes
An innocence I can't deny
Lifting my heart
So I can fly
For through my spine
Run butterflies

A physical feeling
Though a blessing on my soul
I maintain my composure
While inside I can't control

All the happiness cascading
Through my body that's parading
Of the joy that it's containing

Surging waters of your roaring tide
Breach my shore as our hearts collide
Gracefully flowing
Until they soon subside

Soothing me with the warming sun
Whose radiance you have won
Your elegance can't be outdone

And it may be hard to comprehend
But all of this came from you my friend

And this is why I'm holding on
To this hope as thin as air,
Cause all of this just happened
When I heard your quiet prayer

    This poem I truely enjoyed reading, the imagery was quite vivid. The description was portrayed quite beautifully. Definitly a facinating read.

    In every thing you do..."

    Those lines were beautiful. Truely sweet and adoring. I found them to hold such strong emotions which you placed carefully with alot of thought into this piece.

    Well overall this peice was capturing truely caught my eye. Well done ~mel

    I, too, enjoyed reading your poem with its vivid descriptions and splendid imagery. I always admire love poems which depict of a subject talking about a goddess-like maiden in such a fine overstatement. And this piece is no exception to the rule.

    "You define perfection
    In every thing you do..."

    Ah! I adore those lines. Having seen the perfect embodiment of absolute perfection is what I have yet to encounter! You are fortunate.

    "God must have known that you were special
    When he laid his hand on you"

    That portion reminds me of the song "God Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You" by N'sync. You'll know by now why, just take note of its title. =) (It's quite similar in thought with your line.)

    Enjoyed ur poem a lot. especially liked the fact that this girl has totally breached u as u said and the feelings that come from that you barely are able to control.... haha that was cool when u said:

    and also:

    It's your flaws that I see through".

    seeing through flaws! they aren't even there anymore when ur in love! those two ideas i really liked very good job overall. 5/5!!
