The Nightmare She Has Become

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Jun 13, 2007

Standing at the edge of the earth she screams,
Stumbling toward the end of her broken down dreams,
And her hollow voice echoes through her head,
With the tears in her eyes painted a blood red.

There's gashes and bruises all along her heart,
And the flesh around her soul is torn apart,
Her veins are rusting away, wearing thin;
And the last she heard, running is the new sin.

There's a bullet hole right between her broken eyes,
As she raises her rotting arms up to the sky;
"Forgive me Lord for I have sinned again today,"
She whispers under her breath as she begins to pray -

And she stares to the nightmare that she has become,
Serenading herself with the lullabies she starts to hum,
Falling to her knees - she traces over the bullet scar,
Setting all of her hopes onto one decaying star.
