Unalterable

Transfixed to the resonant melody of my heart
Baring a dark empty hole
My destiny- to belong to no one
To live in seclusion, to die alone

I possess nothing but the poignant tales of my life
Own nothing but an ocean of my shed tears
I threw all prospect of love into a bottomless shadow
Eliminated any probability of bliss, in exchange of hollow fears

I missed every opportunity to achieve happiness
Now, I strive to pay the cost
Alone, unloved, regretful and weary
As I find myself beneath everything- lost

May the angels hear my resounding plead,
Pardon my ignorance- I have been imprudent
I ache to know that my life I can never take back
I am late- this, my fate I can no longer amend
