Falling through the sky

by Julienne   Jul 17, 2007

As the winds of time
caress her sweet flesh
her eyelids lay closed
to the imaginations
of the young...
she is flying, high
above all that she knows
without the troubles
of the corrupt world below
reaching her
sweet innocence
she flies, soaring
high above the clouds
as the breeze passes her
she feels free, her soul
bubbling inside her
this feeling
unknown to it

as she can hold her head high
no responsibility
she feels like a bird with
broken wings, healed
she envy's this feeling
and dreads
when she must come down once again
and the sweet melody
of a carefree young soul
flows through her body
from her open mind
down her neck,
across her body and
to the end of her outstretched arms
and to the end of her toes
and then,
the melody stops

she is wrenched
from her world
free and unconstrained
and now he is jerked
unkindly
back into the dark abyss
where she must lie
alone in pain
and hunger
she would give anything
to feel that
that wonderful feeling
of soaring through the sky
but right here
and now,
she is falling
falling through the sky
with the earth
never appearing any closer
she lie cold and wet

limply in the crevice
that she calls home
the screams
and arguing
tearing her back to
the corrupt
and unlivable world
that she inevitably
must belong to...
