A Poet's Play [lyrics]

by isabel   Jul 24, 2007

A lonely breath, a time to weep
Tears falling down 'till I'm asleep
I couldn't cope with my own pain
I felt alone, I felt insane

Desperate taste of misery
Without the flame, a melody
Still hides away what I should say
Am I only a poet's play?

A young soul always wishes more
May drown, while looking at the shore
Because the young are those who see
How precious it is to know you're free

Desperate taste of misery
Without the flame, a melody
Still hides away what I should say
Am I only a poet's play?

You sing, but you don't understand
Those who look happy, just pretend
The bliss you have is never real
When you think, but do not feel

Desperate taste of misery
Without the flame, a melody
Still hides away what I should say
Am I only a poet's play?

A poet's play, but a broken mind
Still looking for what I'll never find
A lover's sorrow, forgotten dreams
The taste of tears is not as sad as it seems
