4 years of falling in love

Four years of falling in love,
Oh how they seem so long,
It is far too long to wait,
I leave it up to fate.

Every day, I see his face,
So much effort just to be foiled again,
One feels it could be a horrible mistake,
By a decision the heart will not make.

Please, just speak,
Why is it that I cannot break free,
Of this love that confines,
Slowly breaking this poor heart of mine.

Again, I beg and plea,
Stop this torture I endure,
One can only take so much,
If only wishes could bring that touch.

    ^ The pain and longing drawn out by that couplet endeared the poem to me. I believed almost everyone could relate to this piece, including me. It's so bittersweet; Love is bittersweet.
    Really now, nice piece. :)

    That was a wonderful poem , very sad and well penned, , a lot heartfelt emotions and well written , love hurts and thats something we all have to get use to, even though we don't like too ,great write , keep it up ,your friend ,,, Tracy d 5/5

    Yes, this was such a truly sad write. It is so hard to break the cycle of being hurt. I guess sometimes we want to hear what they have to say but we are afraid of the answer we will get if they do.
