Sweetest Lie [Italian Sonnet]

by A F   Aug 15, 2007

Can you try pretending you love me still?
This broken heart's getting weaker each day;
How I wish you never had come my way;
So that this burden; I would never feel.
I don't think there is still left that is real;
Nothing's left for me; Nothing left to say.
This breaking heart's getting weaker each day;
Can you try pretending you love me still?

I miss when you say-- you love me so much;
Tell me again; I need to hear that lie.
I long for your kiss; longing for your touch--
You know without you I'm going to die.
Once more; tell me you still love me so much;
I love hearing you say that sweetest lie.
