I Loved You

by A F   Nov 13, 2009

The feelings I used to feel
Are wounded-- hard to heal.
Your voice of safety won't be a help at all,
So don't expect me to answer your call.

Two years you said, it's been two years since you loved me.
But we have to make a pause right now-- we have to set each other free.
It hurts because we fight over the same things;
Now you're all free to have those other flings.

I will miss you-- yes I will.
But we need this long off to someday again feel the thrill.
Only God knows if we will still end up together,
Or will this be the end of our forever?

I want to forget you-- yes I do.
All the memories we shared-- even Alana, too.
If I can't make you happy then I guess you should know,
I'm all ready to set you free-- ready to watch you go.

Though it hurts inside-- I should be strong.
Just so I could sing to you another sad song.
My heart is slowly breaking everyday
As it beats "I loved you"-- the most piercing words it could ever say.

**
We were talking about life together in the future and we chose Alana as the name of our first baby.
