Blue Eyes

All is quiet in the dark of the night
The stars shine like spotlights on the lake
She sighs softly and looks down
So tired of the game of secrets they play
His words can sting, but his actions hurt
She's lost and confused but still she waits
Hoping that one day something will change
That maybe one day he will start to care
That maybe the world will shift
But all that hope ever gets her; is hurt
B r o k e n
Lost inside, but calm on the outside
Like the water of the still lake
And the moon shines brightly
As she turns her head upward
S i l e n t
Her prayer floating above her
But she knows it will never be answered
Nothing will ever actually change
And that he will be the same as ever
Moving blindly away while she stumbles behind
H u r t i n g
But unable to speak or scream
For her own fears have silenced her heart
Her mind takes control and her emotions die
Face expressionless to the world
Blue eyes screaming to meet blue eyes
