Angels Call

by Amy   May 2, 2004

I hear her voice
calling to me
floating on the wind
she seems so free

She draws me to her
singing her tune
she whispers to me
it will be over soon

Her beauty radiates
from deep within
calls me to join her
in a place without sin

I look up above
and see her there
dancing in the sky
without a care

She beckons to me
and holds out her hand
urges me to grab it
she says she understands

I feel the earth
give way under my feet
i look behind me
back down at the street

I see myself
lying on the ground
my body lifeless
without a sound

I begin to cry
but she whispers to me
the body's just a shell
cant you see?

The soul is what matters
and its my time to go
follow the angel
leave behind all i know

As the earth gets farther
and farther away
i hear my mother scream
and begin to pray

But her voice becomes distant
and very faint
and Ive forgotten her
by the time we reach heavens gates

And now I'm here
never to once again fall
all because
i answered the angels call
