Where Happiness Truly Lies

by Independence Forever   Oct 5, 2007

I've pondered long where my happiness dwells
lofty heights, rolling greens, or ocean swells?

the place where my creativity and my safety brisk
a safe place where no harm befalls, no more risk

no longer do i consider it Gettysburg's fields
and it is not where Mackinac's water yields

it's with the people i care for
a strong emotion. i want more

long have i pondered, but now i do know
the people i love, they're my status quo

my happiness lies with my friends and family true
what part of this don't they get, i can rejoice anew
