Childlike Thoughts.

Hearts grasp early memories,
gnawing at future accomplishments.
Deceiving what shall be done,
proudly filling souls with lies.
How awful is your weary heart?
- But settling for less than it's worth.

And, childlike thoughts haunt your existence,
as burning souls pull at your resistance.

Too long has passed, it's now your time,
take back what you lost.
With less than a brain, and more than a heart,
I see your pain within those eyes;
don't die, my love, don't die.

Just steal back what's yours, just retrieve your soul.
For within your heart, I know the pain, the feelings
. . . my love, that complete you whole.

    How I loved those lines...the depth and emotion it creates for the reader is awesome..

    "Just steal back what's yours, just retrieve your soul."

    ^^ MY favourite line in the whole piece.
    I found that particular line to have such intenstity and power.

    This is a beautiful write, the emotion that is in this is overwhelming, while the flow, the imagery, the words, all come together to create a truly beautiful read.

    Well written and having an overall good impression.
    The line"take back what you lost." should be "take back what you have lost." in order to sequence the events. Your poem is nice and I wonder why those thoughts are childlike thoughts :S
