Dreams are Like Butterflies

by Stephanie   Oct 16, 2007

Dreams are like butterflies,
All shapes and sizes
In many colors they lay,
Resting, sleeping,
On butterfly's wings

Dreams are like butterflies,
Fragile and delicate
Very precious,
Like jewels as they glimmer,
In the sunlight,
Of a morning sun

Dreams are like butterflies,
Chased by the determined
With their swinging nets,
And restless energy,
They never give up
To have
In their hands
The most beautiful butterfly,
Their wildest dream

Dreams are like butterflies,
Wanted by so many,
For their beauty
Filled wishes and hopes,
Of one day,
Being set free

Dreams are like butterflies,
Fluttering away in the breeze,
Soaring into the sky
A dream too big for the world,
And yet so small
For a butterfly

Dreams are like butterflies,
Catched by those who wish to seek
Running after the beautiful butterfly
Falling down,
And watching it float away
Holding on to that butterfly,
After endless tries
Never letting it breathe,
Never letting it go

Dreams are like butterflies,
After time,
Its color fades,
Its wings are damaged,
It can not fly
Light of life has faded,
From its eyes
Dreams live,
Dreams die

Dreams are like butterflies,
Soaring wild on wings
Colorful images,
Of a butterfly,
Dot the sky

Dreams are like butterflies,
Chase them
Or let them come to you
Catch them,
Even if you fall
Hold them,
But let them free
For a butterfly
Will surely die
If it can't fly
