The cow that swam

We have the funniest class in school
Everyone thinks we are so cool

The newbies like to visit our class
To find out about the laughs it has

The other day out came the name
Of the old sea cow's nickname

The mermaid of the sea it was called
By sailors who saw it, it was adored

One in our class, she was asleep
She asked the teacher: does it go deep?

Has the cow the ability to swim?
Can it really dive to light so dim?

The teacher laughed and so did we
On such a funny matter to be

Next day the joke wasn't forgotten
Commotion arose from the matter the cow had begotten

The matter got bigger and much sillier
When class mates asked questions much funnier

Can the cow fly above, beyond the blue sky?
Can it brew some tea while playing I spy?

I went back home and all I could see
Were visions of cows swimming before me

I woke to the phone ringing with messages
About cows that can swim, fly and fry sausages

Opening my e-mail, look what I found
Pictures of swimming cows that were crowned

They asked a teacher about what they predicted
He told them that all was expected

He said that a cow could swim so well
That it could even go passed a swimmer so swell

This yip yap of a talk never ended
It exceeded the sciences that it had depended

My headaches are worse, stop the madness please
Before I start catching mad cow disease

So tell me your opinion, do you really think
That a cow could swim or will it just sink !!!?

Note: This poem is true, my classmates really can't stop asking this silly question and they did ask a teacher who told them (by real laws of physics) that a cow could swim!!! So it's inspired by them.
