The Cage She's Running From

by Ixora   Nov 24, 2007

I'm not praying, I'm just holding my hand
Because I'm the only one here who dares to understand
My sudden breakdowns and these useless tears
All of the pain I've hidden for so many years
I'm the only one who can't give up, who cant just walk away
So with me i suffer, with me i lay
Night after night when the blood used to run
Because it hurt to much to think, to consider the gun
I forced myself to look at it so that I would always know
But I was so afraid that I just let go
And still I was there when I dreamed of those days
Knowing I could never again use those wonderful ways
I comforted the heart that was forcing itself to freeze
And covered the mouth that wanted to beg, to scream "please"
Because I learned the hard way what she refuses to
And so ill stay and hold her, protect her from you
Until one day shes strong enough, just as strong as she pretends to be
And finally learns to give up, finally learns to see
That hopes like hers are useless when this world is your only home
The only real place of freedom is the cage she's running from

I really enjoyed this, first, the rythm was very melodic, and second i liked the message, this message of hopelessness... that no, nothing is alright...
    the ending is brilliant.

    great job,sweets. 5/5
