A Pitiful Disguise

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Nov 29, 2007

The skies were turning black as the clouds rolled in,
And she fixed herself in her mirror, a pitiful disguise;
Walking down the empty streets, she glanced to and fro,
Looking for someone to take her gently by the hand.
[She`s just a little bit lonely, waiting for someone to save her.]

Thunder was clapping and rain was pouring down,
As she stood near the isolated gate at the Carnival,
The rides were spinning around and around in circles,
And she watched them go, with no one around but her.
[Holding heart-shaped balloons tightly in her hands.]

She rode the ferris wheel by herself a few dozen times,
Feeling her heart lift up in her throat and drop back down,
And as she came down to the bottom, she held her arms out,
Strewn across the gloomy sky, she closed her eyes.
[Screaming at the top of her lungs, she ran through town.]

She felt eyes upon her, but no one would say a word,
And the silence was killing her as she walked along a dock,
Sitting down, she rested her head down on her arms,
Comforting her broken heart with salty crimson tears.
[As the world crashed down, no one was there to hold her.]

If confusing, the metaphoric meaning behind this would be on how love is like a carnival; the sense of emptiness would be to show how he left her heart empty when he left her .

that line really helped me to picture her loneliness and longing for love. It's like, she wants it, but these symbols of love, (heartshaped balloons) are the closest she gets to feeling it right now. That's so amazing!
