Bliss seems to escape me with each breath I take,
And anger crawls through me: a tantalizing snake.
Your eyelids? They twitch when you finally look at me;
Your lips? A hurricane that left nothing in my soul but debris.
I'm drowning in an ocean of unwanted tears and lies,
And my heart falls through my throat like another unwanted sigh.
The stars keep on watching, like they have something to say;
Perhaps another taunt, ridiculing this cliche?
And your words; they pulled me in, then pushed me away.
You watched my pleading; but still won't listen to a word I say.

Is this what life's really all about, anyways?
