Pretend Another Day

Thoughts of you torment me,
But I have to push them away,
Put on my perfectly fake smile,
Pretend another day.

I'm so broken inside,
Underneath all of the fake smiles,
No one has seemed to even notice,
That I haven't been okay in awhile.

Whenever you finally left,
It was like you died,
Oh, my eyes are so dry,
From all of the tears I've cried.

You're so hard to forget,
I don't know where to start,
Please, just do me this favor,
Won't you give me back my heart?

I wonder what you'd do,
If you saw me again?
Would you take ahold of my hand,
Or let me drown in this quick sand?

No one will be able to save me,
I'll still lie in bed at night and cry,
Then pretend another day,
As I continue to live a lie.
