Lies

by Emilline   Jan 24, 2008

Like a river, all lies flow in one direction
Knocking down everything in its path
Not caring about the soul's it destroys
Only running on its everlasting wrath

Lies wake the dead and kill the living
They weaken the strong and strengthen the weak
They pour the tears and dry others up
Everyone so very unique

There is only one truth to ever be told
But the lies are an endless chain
They're a mask to hide behind
To keep our self and others from the pain

I really loved that poem. I'm a big fan of dark poems, so this was right down my alley. Haha. I loved your use of words! Brilliant! I liked the topic you wrote about too. I feel the exact same way about lies.

"They're a mask to hid behind"
^^Just one little mistake. Hid should be hide.

    Great job, and keep writing!
