Life Altering Moment

by JEFF   Jan 26, 2008

Opening the door,
As they Move in fast.
When my ears are surprised,
From hearing A blast.

Turning my head quickly,
From my bodies own instinct.
I see two men with guns,
My eyes I cant blink.

They yell "Everybody get down",
As we drop to the floor.
Looking over at my girlfriend,
Pointing at the back door.

Shaking my head back and forth,
Whispering "No just lay still".
One robber grabs her shoulder,
As the other one says "whats the deal".

"She was trying to escape",
"Possibly sliding out the back".
Afraid for her life,
I stood up and attacked.

The robber holding her,
Fell to the floor.
Quickly Grabbing her arm,
Heading straight for the door.

The other robber busy,
His eyes focused on the cash.
Not realizing we're up,
And attempting to dash.

We stop only once,
To open the door.
As he catches us leaving,
And opens up once more.

I yelled for her to "run"
And "Don't make a sound".
I was shot at the door,
I fell to the ground.

Knowing she out and safe,
As i slowly look back.
Both robbers standing over me,
Everything then goes black.
