Wake Up Call

by Simply Rachel   Jan 30, 2008

Why does every story have a happy ending,

Why does every writer like pretending?

Reality's not like that at all,

There's no one there to pick us up when we fall.

Why do we all buy the same stupid story,

That to succeed we just need popularity.

I don't care who they say I've got to be,

I'm gonna be no one but the actual me.

I don't think we need those things at all,

I think what we really need is a Wake up call.

We have got to start planning for our future,

And to do that we've got to be sure.

To wake up we need to hear that phone ring,

Or start listening to the white dove sing.

Believe it or not our teachers look out for us,

And to succeed we need to instate our trust.

So you can go ahead and act immature,

You can keep not planning for your future.

As for me I don't want some fatal fall,

To serve as my wake up call.
