What has become of you?

by amber   Feb 1, 2008

I relinquish all my thoughts of you.
For you can have them back
I relinquish all my heart to you
For it has one big crack.

I relinquish all my tears to you
For you're not worth crying for
I relinquish all the guilt I had
My soul is no longer torn.

I relinquish all my fears to you
For you were the main cause
I relinquish all the perfect ness
Even saints have their flaws.

I relinquish all the hate for you
That lately has seemed to increase
I relinquish everything I have
I give it all back, take it please.

I relinquish every "I love you"
That crossed my ignorant lips
I relinquish every fight we had
Just when we started to slip

I relinquish every night I worried
I knew where you were staying
I relinquish every thought I had
I relinquish the pain of replaying.

I relinquish it all back to you
Maybe you can see for yourself
I relinquish the vision to my past life
Why my heart stayed on a shelf

I relinquish it all, nothing I keep
For nothing is all that I want
I relinquish the dreams that keep me asleep
For waking, I do not want

I want to sleep and never awaken
For a moment like this is shear pleasure
And sleeping without having to worry with you
Is a moment Ive learned to treasure.

And I'll ponder in this dream that I wish were reality
And things that will never come true
But I open my eyes and see you beside me
"just what has become of you?"

Very well written. Good use of athe word relinquish. Also I can seriously relate to this, you know you've got some amazing talent when your work reaches out and grabs someone. Keep it up.
