The Light in My Mind

I close my eyes, and its quiet,
So silent you could hear a pin drop,
Dark, yet theres a touch of light,
Drifting slowly into my minds eye,

It spreads, twists, and turns,
Stretching out, it lights my mind,
I try to think, "What does this mean?",
But I know I'll never find the answer,

I abandon my new curious thought,
And notice the light is fading,
As I begin to fear it will leave,
It fades quicker...

It's dark again, I can't see,
Where did the light go?,
I miss my friend the light,
But I might be able to revive it,

Thinking of happy thoughts,
The light slowly edges into my mind,
And I can feel a smile form on my face,
This light symbolizes my happiness,

And when its all gone dark,
It's the empty void in my mind,
The place of no hope,
The place, where I am lost,

I fear this place, in my mind,
But I will not succumb to it's poison,
I will spread this cure,
The new found light,

Filling the empty void in my mind,
With the happiness of my soul,
The happiness I feel inside my heart,
Is the cure, to my lost mind.
