Pushed Aside

by Amy   May 17, 2004

I try my best
Yet I always seem to fail.
And after it all is done
My efforts never seem to prevail.
I've tried countless times
To keep a smile upon my face
Although it always gets overlooked
And I always seemed to be pushed aside or replaced.
I want you all happy
But it always seems to hurt me
While with the group,
I wish they could just see.
See the laughter that I am capable of bringing
Once I am given the chance.
And if allowed
Each smile I am sure to enhance.
One will talk gladly to me
Until more appear.
Then I am left out in the cold alone
And I seem to you all I seem to disappear.
I love you all
But sometimes I wonder why
Everyday I wear the smile to try to please
But it always seems to be denied.
They all confide in me
And they say that I am so very sweet
If that is so
Then why do I always seem to be pushed down to my feet.
