Seems that smiles grow more here
As we pass this time of year...

I had my life planned out before me
I'd made up my mind about what I'd do...

Does everything we say have to be hidden behind...
I am scared...can't I say it like that...

Twenty years of innocence
Just got caught up in your stare...

The chaos rattles in my head
Shakes up my broken heart...

You guided me and held my hand
Every second of the way...

First love
It's the way you came along...

I want you to know I miss how things used to be
When I confided in you, and you trusted in me...

Running silent, heart pounding
Like my feet upon the track...

You lead me on with hopes
Then toss them all aside...
