I used to have a rare talent or idiosyncrasy of not being able to forget a zodiac sign once I learned it. People would actually forget they told me their sun sign and would be amazed when they thought I guessed it . I stumbled on to an old happy birthday thread when I was looking to see if anyone started a happy birthday thread for Elisabetta on August 26 2007 and noticed one for 11/5 or 5/11 which ever way you prefer to display . I recall Elisabetta's birthday because it is my birthday also

No Hellon, it absolutely peed it down with rain on bonfire night. My kids are a bit non plussed with fireworks anyway. I blame the fact that people let them off all year round over any little thing.

I enjoyed going to displays as a kid.

We actually celebrated Halloween more than guy fawkes night. Halloween is almost becoming as big here as it is in the US.
We went to Butlins minehead for a Halloween themed week.

Hi Darren...only just now noticed your reply. I guess, if fireworks are around all year long then they would become boring...how things have changed :) In WA...the only time we see fireworks is Australia Day and, sometimes New Year but...they are controlled displays, we are not able to buy any fireworks ourselves....bush fires etc...

You say you went to Butlins for Halloween...is that place still open??? OGM..I used to work there when I was a young mad thing lol!!! Bognor Regis and the one in Ayr. I thought they had closed down years ago. I think the TV series Hi Di Hi was based on Butlins...they called it Maklins or something?...very original haha!!!

That's funny about the fireworks, Darren.... over here people must not celebrate that much with them or we don't see them. Occasionally they'll be at the baseball games downtown. I usually only see them a few times in the summer and our family doesn't host them since there are displays near by and they can be quite expensive to buy at the store. I can see how that would get old if they see them quite often, kind of sad since to me they are always a treat :]

The Bognor one is still going, only three left now. Bognor, Minehead and Skegness.

It is still a bit camp, but the kids love it.

Redcoat Darren? No..nothing so glamorous ...those positions were reserved for the uni-students of which..us chalet maids hated with a vengeance and did everything we could to sabotage them and their lovely redcoats haha!!!
