Bitter Surrender

by ChrisT   Apr 27, 2009

Tear me apart
Just leave me bleed
I have no heart
But you're what I need

The tears taste like rain
The crys are deafening
Can you feel my pain
The cramps are stifeling
This Bitter surrender,
The tears that make me ill
Is just a fear I render
As my reason to be still

No song or phrase
Can ease me now
I'm caught in a daze
And I'd stop if I only knew how

You left me
With no second glance
How could this be
I didn't have a chance

Now I'm withered away
Crippled by the pain
'Til this final day
Cursed by black rain

My rope tightens
Slowing my chest
And as my breath lightens
I whisper, "I can finally rest"

The title caught my attention immediately, though the actual contents of the poem made my attention stray for some of the lines.

    ''Til this final day
    Cursed by black rain'

These two lins jumped out at me. The metaphor of black rain intrigued me, and while it is often used you used in in a way that really brought out an air of mystery. 4/5
