Life and Light

by Maple Tree   Apr 18, 2012

Tonight, I fell upon my knees
lit a candle,
set a flame to this aching soul,
and found my peace.

Looking to the moon
as I always did before,
reminding me once again,
of my overpowering strength.

I will find solace within
those mazes that confuse me,
because you're always at the end,
smiling your adorable smile.

A dear friend says I'm the angel,
however my wings have been dipped
in a giant vat of cement and I can't fly,
you save me every day, just by breathing,

You are the angel love,
I'm the believer,
In you, In me, and
us....

Oh man I love the beginning! I wish it was that easy to find peace...but just lighting a candle. Peace can be found through a person's light as well, people can be our candles. We do have strength to overcome everything, it is just hidden from us sometimes.

"because your always at the end"
^The "your" here should be "you're"

This was a beautiful piece, dear, and I really enjoyed reading it! :)

Psht, wings are not clipped, not one bit. You ARE an angel, and I'm sure he agrees with me :)

This is absolutely gorgeous poetry. It hit me right in the heart, such a beautiful piece. I can tell this was therapeutic for you, and that usually makes for some intense, emotional poetry... and it did :) Beautiful!
