Fake

by Lyical Madness   May 2, 2017

The smile doesn't reach my eyes
The mask can do much but not add back the faded sparkle
That slipped away into the void of emptiness
That found their way into the chasms of hopelessness
That snake into the soul
Spitting toxic venom
Consuming all that is good & light
Chaos can be beautifully terrifying
Thoughts of Death can bring a twisted sense of peace
Tired she comes home
Slipping off the mask
It tumbles, clattering upon the marble floor
Discarded fakery
Yet to do it all again tomorrow
Why are there so many tomorrow's?

I love the questioning in this one, you paint some vivid images with a great word choice and i'm really digging the format of this one.

Very atmospheric and deep emotional write - great job!

    Hi Lyrical M.

Another powerful, with a drained sadness. Wearing masks resonated with me. Its an arduous search at times for our true us.

    keep looking and take care
