A Midnight Storm

by Ren   Apr 5, 2017

A beat comes to earth,
With a soft rhythm or two,
That brushes along the trees-
A dance to ensue.

Birds holler their warnings,
The crickets do, too-
As the clouds grow thicker,
A storm begins to brew.

With a flash of light to follow,
The winds holler and blow-
A rumble in the distance,
Threatens the world below.

Drip
Drop
Drip
Drop

The rain begins to fall-
Trickling lightly against my window,
Answering thunders call.

Rain envelops a sleepy town,
Doors rattle and moan-
The wind now sings a lullaby,
As porch chimes are blown.

The lightning flashes,
As sleep takes me under-
There I dance in the rain,
And welcome the thunder.

Nice ink Poetess :) really atmospheric.
Almost found myself wishing it was raining here and a storm brewing.
    I find then incredibly energising.
