For Sale

by Kitty Cat Lady   Sep 29, 2017

Where is home now?
It used to be here
A place I belonged
To my heart so dear

Nested and nurtured
Homley and secure
Everything anchored
Nothing unsure

Now prying eyes peer
My life is laid bare
Nosing and judging
My feelings not spared

Even the bedroom
The place where we lie
In more ways than one
Where dreams went to die

Cupboards are opened
Skeletons tumble
Miscalculations swift
Dignity crumbles

They want to know why
Is the house maybe tainted?
The scene of a crime
A stain to be repainted

Now where will I live?
Me and my homeless heart
No fixed abode
Right back to the start.
