I Told The Birds (Song with recording)

by Maher   Nov 8, 2017

Three birds soar above a canyon - high;
upon the wind's many backs, they do fly.
One shone green with a glitter of gold;
another: brown with a colour, untold.
The last, shy of its garment of blue;
scattered with purple and turquoise hues.

I saw three birds flying high above
a chasm of ice: frosted over with love.
The snow-topped slopes shining innocent white;
the rivers below, hidden under the ice.
The shy of the three beckoned over the two;
and down, with speed, did they glide through the brume.

Three birds land before my very eyes:
the colours of gods painted over the white.
They sing where they stand, unaware of the cold;
I shiver, laugh and agree with their scold.
Then with whispers and waves and goodbyes returned:
only they shall know what I told the birds.

      Thanks USB, glad you like it. It is a song. Think of the dwarfs in The Hobbit singing that tune in Bilbo's house - that's more what it's like :)
