Soaking up and down

by Michael   Jun 5, 2018

Somewhere-
buried deep.

Deep
within my heart
lies a sponge.
soaked-up with
pain and memories to keep

on occasions it has been pinched
and pressed with care
healing a feeling;
watered enough to share
sprinkled and twinkled.
although, those times
were rare.

absorbed breakages;
gripped and dipped
at times.
flooded with grief
fractured and chipped
but will always beat a belief

recently this sponge
(which of course is love)
has become dry
parched and brittle
doused in my errors

Little.
by little.

By me.

    Every poem you write always moves me for one reason or another and this my goodness was definitely no exception...... I've just got home from a busy school shift and I'm not sure why but today I feel completely numb, like I'm not here and this, this touched something within me which I don't even know what it is but I'm a blubbering wreck and Michael my goodness did I need to read this right now truly, honestly, I am grateful why I'm not sure....love it and love you sir, dear Michael, dear friend. OK I'll stop
    Take care.
