Anatomy of a Poem

by RustySoul   Jun 13, 2018

When words like warm blood smoothly flow
Within the insides of poetic frame,
When wisest thoughts seek refuge
Inside the mind for a little fame.

When emotions of varied kinds
Find themselves a secure place,
Within a heart in rhyming beats,
And different moods swing apace.

When the bard has taken greater pains
To create a being with ceaseless strife,
Surely, you must know this well,
Into the poem he has breathed a life.
