Who are you?

by AnnMarie   Dec 2, 2005

Suppose I was to ask you,
Who are you?
What would you say?
You'd probably go on about your job or what you do at home all day.
But that's not what I asked,
Tell me who you truely are unmasked
I don't care what it is you do,
or whether or not your husband beats you untill you're black and blue.
I want to know what you yearn for,
what does your heart burn for.
Have you barracaded your heart,
and let the world turn your soul into it's own personal grocery cart.
Or are you the woman on the side of the road,
willing, wanting, yearning enough
to reap what it is she sowed?
Suppose I was to ask you,
who are you?
What would you say?
